The Technician Tailings and Water Treatment is a new role, which will be responsible for safely implementing monitoring activities and operation of 4 treatment plant systems and 1 soda ash system across Red Lake Operations.
The position will be on a 5/2/4/3 (9.5 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.
We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $69,124 to $93,520 CAD.
Treatment Plant- Operate 4 treatment plant systems including regulating flows, adjusting dosages, and maintaining equipment/processes.
- Inspect, service, and plan necessary repairs of the water treatment plant (e.g. water intakes, pipes, storage vessels, chemical treatment equipment controls, pumps, valves, etc).
- Troubleshoot any treatment plants operating outside regular operating parameters and prepare recommendations on path forward.
- Actively participate in the commissioning process of any new equipment and create new Safe Working Instructions for each new task associated with this equipment.
- Track data in Microsoft Excel; keep daily log and ensure accuracy of records.
- Carry out water quality assurances including field or bench tests and collect representative samples (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly).
- Ensure treatment optimization is achieved by continually monitoring circuit outputs and taking corrective measures to pre-empt circuit upset or shut down.
- Train other operators and partake in training upgrades.
- Conduct general clean-up throughout the treatment plant area, reporting potential safety hazards and production problems to the supervisor.
- Undertake all activities involving chemicals in such a way as to ensure the safety of human health and the environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform and document tailings inspections as defined intervals and report any anomalies.
- Collect Dam Stability data and assist in reviewing data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident‑free.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
