Dump Truck Driver Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. As a Dump Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dump trucks to facilitate the transportation of materials, including sand, gravel, and other aggregates, to various construction and maintenance sites. Key Responsibilities
  • Operate dump trucks adhering to company safety policies and procedures, as well as federal and local driving regulations.
  • Transport materials to and from specified locations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inspect the truck daily for mechanical and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance when necessary.
  • Load and unload materials using dump body functions, ensuring proper distribution of weight.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and other relevant trip information.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site supervisors, and other team members.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of dump truck operations for optimal efficiency.
  • Handle any materials with care to minimize risk of damage or loss.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the truck and perform regular inspections to identify any maintenance needs.
Qualifications
  • A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record is required.
  • Proven experience as a dump truck driver or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with construction sites and aggregate materials handling is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to transportation and hauling.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Working Conditions
  • Must be willing to operate in various weather conditions and terrains.
  • Availability for shift work, including early mornings, late evenings, and possible weekends.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods and lifting heavy objects at times.
