The Sr Global IT Manufacturing Liaison is a strategic role responsible for strengthening the partnership between global plant manufacturing operations and the IT Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) organization. This role ensures that the voice of plant leadership is clearly represented in IT decision‑making and that IT infrastructure strategies, services, and changes are effectively communicated and adopted across all manufacturing sites. This position plays a key role in aligning operational needs with IT capabilities, driving stability, performance, and innovation in plant technology environments worldwide.
Responsibilities- Serve as the trusted IT representative to plant managers and their leadership teams.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with manufacturing leaders to understand operational challenges and opportunities.
- Translate plant needs into actionable IT initiatives and ensure timely feedback and updates from IT.
- Communicate IT strategies, roadmaps, and changes in a clear, plant‑relevant manner.
- Advocate for plant priorities within IT planning and decision‑making processes.
- Align IT initiatives with plant goals to support safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Facilitate discussions to identify and prioritize technology needs at the plant level.
- Support the collection of requirements and data to feed into business cases for plant‑related IT investments.
- Identify opportunities to standardize and scale solutions across multiple plants.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (applications, OT, Analytics, etc.) to analyze and improve manufacturing processes through technology.
- Support the implementation of IT solutions in the plants, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum adoption.
- Assist in documenting requirements, workflows, and training materials tailored to plant users.
- Align IT infrastructure services (e.g., network, compute, storage, end‑user support, cybersecurity, and site reliability) with the operational requirements of each plant.
- Partner with I&O teams to ensure infrastructure solutions are resilient, scalable, and tailored to the unique needs of manufacturing environments.
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts related to plant infrastructure performance and availability.
- Act as a change agent to support digital transformation in manufacturing environments.
- Promote awareness of emerging technologies and their potential impact on plant operations.
- Help plants prepare for and adapt to new systems, tools, and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or related field required; MBA preferred.
- 10 years of experience in IT, manufacturing operations, or business relationship management.
- Experience working in or with manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead others through influence and build trust across functions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced, plant‑centric environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing systems (e.g., MES, SCADA, ERP) and IT service delivery models.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process mapping skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and work under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
