HowYou’ll Contribute
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments in the OR suite and ensure their proper set‑up; assist the surgical team during procedures.
- Understand the procedures being performed and anticipate the surgeon’s needs by passing instruments and supplies during surgery.
- Transport used instruments to the decontamination room upon completion of the surgical procedure.
- Handle instruments and supplies correctly and ensure their proper functioning.
- Be responsible for all instruments, maintaining them in good working order, and ensuring the availability of needed instruments for all surgical cases.
- Maintain a sterile field and count all instruments, sponges, needles, etc., needed for each case.
- Possess the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during operative procedures.
- Clean, assemble, and prepare instruments, equipment, and supplies for sterilisation when needed.
- Follow proper sterilisation processes.
- Participate in testing and recording of all biotesting for sterilisers and autoclaves in the department as needed.
- Confirm equipment while in the OR/Procedure room and ensure the sterile field has been appropriately processed/sterilised.

- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent – Required. - Graduate of a surgical technology programme – Preferred.
- Experience:
Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility. - License/
Certifications:
Certification from clinicals completed required; BCLS required.
