As a Trust Officer for HFG Trust, your objective is to develop and build a Trust Department that fulfills the company’s Strategic Objective. This includes providing clients with expert advice on trust and estate matters, creating and overseeing trusts under the terms of the governing trust documents. The position will work hand in hand with a Trust Administrator and Trust Accountant to ensure all Trust relationships are serviced correctly.

Role Responsibilities:
Trust Management:
- Serve as an in-house resource for trust administration questions
- You have responsibility to seek and engage outside strategic partners to develop relationships and trust in our services.
- Work with Advisors, Lenders and Relationship Managers to develop new business opportunities
- Participate in and represent HFG at relevant conferences
- Provide client and partner focused service with responsiveness, professionalism, and tact
- Prepares and reports financial accountings for grantor, beneficiaries, executors, and/or courts as required by specific provisions of a trust agreement.
- Prepares, files, and pays, or oversees preparation and payment of applicable state and federal taxes for the trust.
- Promotes the banks trust services to clients, community members, and business associates.
- Acts as personal financial advisor when specified by the guidelines of the trust agreement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Identify a key list of strategic partners that will need HFG Trust services.
- Assists clients with formation of new trust accounts, providing advice concerning types of trusts and arrangements that are best suited for the situation.
- Collaborates with client’s attorney to draft legal documents specifying trust and estate provisions, duration, and other matters.
- Collaborates with the banks investment analysts to choose appropriate investments based on long-term financial goals and the best interests of the beneficiaries; ensures that fiduciary judgment is followed in investment of the trust.
- Facilitates the process of transferring funds and assets to corpus of trust.
- Collects income or proceeds from sales of assets and deposits funds in trust accounts.
- Facilitates payment of debts, liquidation of liabilities, and disbursement of funds as needed by the beneficiaries and conditions of the trust.
- Create, review, and approve Discretionary Distribution Requests
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their estate plans
- Participate and lead as a member of HFG’s Trust Administration Committee overseeing all fiduciary activity and reporting to the Managing Director and Board of Directors
- Help develop and implement trust administration policies and procedures
- Effectively communicate ideas and information to management, advisors and Trust Administration Committee
- Create PowerPoint presentations and Word documents from scratch ensuring the presentation is correctly formatted, styled, and branded.
- Work individually and handle self-driven projects efficiently.
- Promote the profile of the business within the profession and greater communities.
Leadership:
- Be a role model for remarkable customer service.
- Hire and oversee appraisers, as necessary, to determine the value of various assets, to determine whether sale of assets is recommended, and to identify appropriate methods of sale.
- Manage and direct the Trust team on handling estates and trust accounts that are in line with the mission and core values of the company.
Required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required;
- Juris Doctorate Degree, MBA or Certified Trust and Financial Advisor…
