Mechanical Engineer – Mid, Senior & Principal Levels

Join Enercon Services, Inc. as a Mechanical Design or Mechanical Project Engineer. We are seeking talented Mechanical Engineers at all experience levels, from early‑career professionals to principal engineers.

Overview

Our mechanical engineer career path offers many options. You can bring your experience to our mid‑level and senior roles or step into a principal engineer position where you’ll lead and mentor others. Roles may be full‑time, part‑time, or temporary.

Responsibilities

A typical day may include working with a multi‑discipline engineering team on major projects such as cooling water systems (pumps, motors, control systems, piping, heat exchangers) for existing or new power plants. Other days you may lead simple design projects such as valve replacements or write engineering reports (e.g., corrosion studies or equipment comparison).

  • Deliver high‑quality engineering documents: accurate drawings, sketches, calculations, and analyses that meet industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Adhere to standards: develop documents in alignment with client, Enercon, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with industry codes, standards, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques tailored to the nuclear sector.
  • Produce engineering deliverables that meet stringent quality assurance standards.
  • Build lasting client relationships through clear communication and professional interactions.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure designs are comprehensive and integrated.
  • Travel to plant sites for walk‑downs and evaluate plant structures, systems, and components.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for the mid‑level position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing mechanical systems.
  • Experience in one of the following industries highly preferred: engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial (chemical or pulp & paper), or government (DOE) projects.
  • Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • U.S. citizenship required for federal contract positions (please confirm your status).
  • Senior Engineers typically have 7 years of post‑graduate experience;
    Principal Engineers typically have 10 years.
