Job Description Summary

We are searching for an Engineering Project Manager to lead projects supporting the production of frozen potato products. This role manages and directs projects of varying size and scope—including process investigations, capital projects, and troubleshooting technical issues.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for developing scope, schedule, budget estimates, and cost justifications as projects progress through the design and approval process.
  • Write, present, and submit Capital Investment Requests (CIR) and supporting documentation.
  • Lead the cross‑functional development and implementation of the capital plan, engaging Plant and Corporate functions such as Safety, Sanitation, Quality, Environment, Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and Operations.
  • Manage and drive engineering efforts in the plants and for corporate initiatives.
  • Execute projects of any size, including those greater than $400 M USD.
  • Accountable for timely, accurate, and effective implementation of engineering and project‑related work.
  • Meet or exceed project success criteria, including quality, cost, spend forecasting, schedule, and performance metrics.
  • Apply and lead project teams in the vertical process, ensuring contractor and team safety on every project.
  • Facilitate the implementation of specifications and engineering best practices, updating specifications as needed.
  • Coach and mentor internal and external resources, leading direct reports (if applicable) and collaborating with other department managers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • BS or BA in Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years practical experience as a Project Manager, Sr. Engineer, or Plant Engineering Manager with Cap/Ex experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and capital projects; food & beverage experience is a plus.
  • Experience with plant engineering, maintenance, and operations.
  • Excellent creative and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in leading diverse teams in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent communication, technical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial plant construction, codes, practices, and engineering requirements.
  • Completion of OSHA 30‑hour construction safety course is desirable.
  • Knowledge of project finance and budget cost control.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD applications.
  • Ability to travel within the US and Canada up to 50 % of the time, with peaks potentially exceeding that amount.
Physical Requirements
  • Seating for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Light lifting up to 15 lb occasionally (up to 25 lb infrequently).
  • Walking on various manufacturing facility surfaces.
  • Climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Exposure to plant noises and vibrations.
  • Temperature changes from hot to cold depending on work area.
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
