• Salary: $22.29-$27.31/hour DOE with potential increase for highly experienced candidates
• Hiring/Retention Bonus Structure: $4,000 total (At Hire: $1,200; At 180 days: $1,600; At 12 months: $1,200). Bonus prorated based on Full Time Equivalency (FTE)

• Maintain patient medical records, update medical history and vital signs as needed.
• Perform complete patient X-ray procedures (panoramic and cephalometric) and intraoral photographs; develop and store X-Rays in the electronic dental record.
• Set up and record periodontal charting per Provider’s instructions.
• Prepare and set up instruments and equipment for patient exams.
• Mix materials for exams with attention to infection control and cross-contamination prevention.
• Provide preventative periodontal care including coronal polish, fluoride treatments, and sealants.
• Start and monitor nitrous oxide analgesia as necessary under direct supervision of the Provider (Washington only).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene in clinic and Mobile Unit school-based programs.
• Assist in infection control program: ensure sterile packaging integrity, sterilize instruments/equipment, and clean autoclaves and operatories.
• May assist in Orthodontics (e.g., obtaining patient records, bite registrations, patient models, fabricating retainers, placing/removing ligature ties).
• May perform Lead duties: manage daily department flow, liaison between line staff and supervisor, manage breaks, lunches, sick calls and overtime, train new/existing staff as needed.
• Perform clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission (TJC), HRSA, and YVFWC requirements.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
• Registration as a Surgical Technologist if assisting a Dentist in the operating room
• Registration as a Dental Assistant or EFDA certification
• Note:
  
  Dental Assistants without Washington State registration will observe patient care and assist with paperwork until registration is received; registration must be completed within 7 days of hire unless waived by Clinic Administrator
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at level 10
• Basic knowledge of medical/dental terminology, dental anatomy, materials, instruments, and infection control
• Ability to perform four-handed dental assisting (instrument transfer, oral evacuation, cement mixing, spatulation)
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages
• Basic proficiency with EDR, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
