Position Type:
Part-time, 20‑40 hours per week, flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and peak holiday periods.
The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in leading a customer focused, top‑line sales‑driven, profitable and productive store location. The Assistant Store Manager must inspire and motivate others by exhibiting core value behaviors—customer focused selling culture, ensuring the execution of the Store's KPIs—and holds store employees accountable to following all policies and procedures.
A Day in the Life, What You’ll Be Doing- Displays a customer‑focused mindset at all times and ensures all team members deliver an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience.
- Handles customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures, attempts to “solve for yes” and escalates issues as appropriate.
- Maintains a clean and well organized store, promoting a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience.
- Shares feedback from customers with the leadership team to improve the overall customer experience.
- Performs as the floor supervisor role as needed to cover non‑peak periods (breaks etc.).
- Holds self and others responsible for the accomplishment of all operational tasks.
- Coaches and provides feedback on Sales Associate’s performance.
- Supports associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
- Provides direction to associates to ensure understanding of company directives and standards.
- Prioritizes and delegates tasks to meet all operational needs.
- Supports and executes visual directives and maintains visual standards set by the company.
- Drives efficiency in all operational store processes.
- Maintains merchandise flow, filling and presentation standards throughout the store and stockroom.
- Ensures all store associates follow all policies, procedures and all Safety Program practices.
- Reflects the Pac Sun brand by demonstrating passion and affinity for product, brands, fashion and trends.
- Inspires and motivates others by consistently exhibiting core value behaviors.
- Passion for product, brands, fashion and trends.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Proficient in math and strong computer skills.
- Operate with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality; setting the example for leaders and associates.
- Develop and nurture strong cross‑functional partnerships; driving business results and inspiring a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
- Serve as a Pac Sun advocate in the industry and marketplace.
- Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent that delivers performance excellence.
- Serve as a leader of company culture, norms, and conduct.
- Balance a strong management presence with approachability, encouraging and eliciting associate feedback and interaction.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds; occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Frequent sitting/standing for long periods and climbing ladders as needed.
- Regular required talking or hearing; using hands to finger, handle or feel; reaching, twisting or squatting.
- Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stockroom and office areas.
- Vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
- Work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
- Hotel, airplane, and car travel may be required for SM and above roles only.
