Bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker Job Description

To perform outpatient counseling and to clients at Agency' offices. Clinician will be available to conduct sessions during such hours as agreed with Ser Familia’s management. All clients shall be processed through Agency' normal client intake procedures.

Ser Familia, Inc. will keep a professional liability (malpractice) insurance covering the clinician and will ensure that all services are provided following all ethical standards and rules enforced by the Georgia Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work
  • Must be fully licensed in Georgia as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Needs to be able to read, write, speak and understand English and Spanish
  • Must work well with persons of varied sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds, and with individuals who are differently-abled.
  • Previous employment or volunteer work in human services, community agencies or other related nonprofit or social change organizations a plus.
  • Must pass a criminal background check
Job Description
  • Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, or assessment tools.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience, knowledge and results of assessments administered to clients.
  • Counsel clients individually or in group sessions, to assist them in overcoming mental health/emotional/behavioral, challenges, adjusting to life, recover from trauma, making live changes, improve symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression and others.
  • Guide clients in the development of skills or strategies for dealing with their challenges.
  • Encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, helping them to develop insight into themselves or their relationships.
  • Evaluate clients' mental condition, based on review of client information, results of assessment tools and observation. Determine (in conjunction with other agency personnel) if the agency’s available services are a good fit for clients’ needs.
  • Refer (or assist in the referral of) patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary, in particular if agency’s current services are determined not to be a good fit for client’s needs.
  • Fill out and maintain client-related paperwork, including federal- and state-mandated forms, client’s diagnostic records, and progress notes; additionally, entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment. Follow agency’s protocol to ensure the safeguarding of all client’s confidential documentation.
  • Assess patients in crisis and provide immediate assistance as required by professional ethical standards and agency’s protocol.
  • Act as client advocates to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations, as needed; or support agency’s case manager in the coordination of services.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs on clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
  • Participate, lead or provide support to agency’s domestic violence victims support groups and/or any other support group.
  • Provide as requested by agency’s management, employee workshops, courses, or training about mental health issues.
  • Perform Case Management duties such as:
    Evaluating clients’ progress periodically and make adjustments based on their emerging needs to improve outcomes.
  • Periodically Follows up with clients to ensure they are satisfied with the agency’s services and assure they are still in good mental health.
  • Work in conjunction with other Ser Familia’s staff members to develop teams which encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among members, to ensure that Ser Familia is providing the best care and support for its clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
