Job Summary
Tatum is seeking a highly analytical and process-driven Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for a hands‑on accounting professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and excels at managing the complexities of cost accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation. As a key partner to the Site Controller, you will ensure the integrity of the financial statements while supporting the site’s transition through a high‑growth period.

Job Type: Contract
Salary: $44 – $47 per hour
Work Hours: 8:00 to 17:00

Responsibilities- Financial Close & Reporting: Lead monthly closing duties, including standard journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and the audit of shipping/receiving for proper cut‑off.
- Cost Accounting & Inventory: Review WIP and profit margins, calculate Excess and Obsolete (E&O) reserves, and oversee the annual physical inventory process.
- Operational Analysis: Perform detailed cost analysis on product lines to provide actionable recommendations; track "Cost of Poor Quality" (COPQ) and verify monthly orders, backlog, and sales.
- Financial Planning Support: Assist the Controller with the annual budget and quarterly forecast cycles, including loading data into the ERP system.
- Revenue Cycle Management: Own the milestone billing process, manage Accounts Receivable/Collections, and establish customer credit limits.
- Compliance & Tax: Assist in the preparation of the annual corporate tax package and R&D tax credits; manage royalty and warranty calculations and fixed asset audits.
- KPI Management: Update productivity and KPI "Bowling Charts" and prepare high‑level financial presentations for leadership using PowerPoint.
- Education: BA/BS in Accounting is required; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Experience: 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates coming from the manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Certification: Completion of a CPA or active pursuit of a CPA license is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency:
* Advanced Excel skills are mandatory.- Experience with ERP systems (QAD preferred) and reporting tools such as Hyperion HFM or Cognos is a significant advantage.
- Soft Skills: Proactive problem‑solving abilities and the professional presence to interact with both suppliers and internal executives.
