Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non‑tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of German in the Department of World Languages and Cultures with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine‑month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate German language and culture courses at all levels, as well as courses in English to support the B.A. in Modern Languages and Cultures, delivered in face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online formats.
- Service to the program, department, college, university, community, and/or profession, including sustained efforts to recruit, retain, and mentor undergraduate students from a range of disciplines in a dynamic German Studies program.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications- A Master's or terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D.) or the foreign equivalent, in German, Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
- Native or near‑native fluency in German and English.
- Evidence of successful college‑level teaching experience in German language and culture.
- Experience in program recruitment, mentorship, instructional technologies, language pedagogies, course design, or assessment.
