Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of World Languages and Cultures with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine‑month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teach mainly lower‑division language Spanish courses and occasional upper‑division Spanish courses (dependent on departmental needs). Assignments may also include teaching major‑level courses in the area of the candidate’s specialization in English geared toward all Modern Languages and Cultures majors.
- Establish a teaching environment where all students can be successful.
- Prioritize student success, foster an engaging learning environment for all students, and accommodate a broad range of educational goals.
- Service commitments such as organizing co‑curricular activities, program recruitment, and limited committee work.
- The current teaching load is 4/5 for the year.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of a Master’s degree
, or the foreign equivalent, in Spanish or related studies at the time of hire. - OR A minimum of a Master’s, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish at the time of hire.

- Strong background in proficiency‑oriented instruction.
- Native or near‑native proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Documented record of experience in teaching Spanish courses in face‑to‑face and/or hybrid or online environments.
- Documented experience in professional service.
- Experience developing and/or teaching courses in a variety of modalities, including face‑to‑face, online, or hybrid courses.
- Experience with understanding/developing/administering effective language assessments.
- Familiarity with current trends in language pedagogy, cultural students, linguistics, and related technologies.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member in the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
- Experience in organizing co‑curricular activities, program recruitment and/or advising student groups.
