The Department of Theatre & Performance Studies offers a Bachelor of Arts in theatre and performance studies with concentrations in acting, design and technology, musical theatre, and performance studies. We emphasize the scholar-artist framework, connecting practice and theory, and collaborate with professional theaters and community partners to provide real-world experiences for students. Our program covers a range of performance forms from mainstage productions to storytelling, improv, puppetry, and poetry, and supports diverse opportunities for theatre makers to flourish.
Job SummaryKennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies for the academic year. These positions are on a semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with credentials. The work will be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate courses in Theatre and/or Performance Studies (disciplines including acting, design and technology, history, theory, musical theatre, performance studies, or others as needed).
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Theatre/Performance Studies or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A minimum of a Master’s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
- A minimum of two years collegiate and/or professional teaching experience, along with an established record of professional experience in the field.
