Department InformationThe Department of Geography and Anthropology is student-centered and committed to fostering active and participatory teaching and learning. Our programs prepare students to understand and engage the world s interrelated human, cultural, and physical systems. Geography studies human–environment relationships;
Geospatial Sciences apply geospatial technologies to analyze spatial processes;

The Norman J. Job SummaryKennesaw State University is accepting applications for a pool of open-rank, part-time and limited-term geography faculty in the Department of Geography and Anthropology for the academic year. Positions are on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate general education courses in physical and human geography. We offer four general education lab classes:
Introduction to Landforms;
Weather and Climate;
Resources, Society and the Environment; and Introduction to Human Geography. - Assignments to faculty in the pool are based on departmental needs and are for one or two courses per semester. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications- A Master s or terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Geography or a closely related field is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A minimum of a Master s degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
- Experience teaching online or hybrid courses
- Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level
Official transcripts and international course-by-course evaluations are due upon hire.
