Department Specific Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Review, code, and post personnel and operating/equipment transactions for the division/departments.
  • Collaborate with Fiscal Services, Budget and Planning, HR, Procurement, and other units.
  • Serve as a liaison between the department business operation services and other administrative units within the department and university.
  • Facilitate payments and requisitions for travel, events, ordering supplies and materials, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines and policies.
  • Deposit checks as received, collect receipts, and record transactions.
  • Review and reconcile all expenses, including personnel, budget amendments, travel, and operational/equipment transactions.
  • Prepare accounts payable for electronic processes.
Department Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous experience reviewing and reconciling travel expense statements, PCard, personnel, and other expenses.
Job Summary

Ensures all transactions for the assigned division, college, or unit comply with established policies and procedures of the University, Board of Regents, State of Georgia, and other governing bodies. Acts as a liaison for the division and other units within the department and university. Assists with implementation of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Enter, review, or approve transactions for departmental travel, operating supplies, and contracts.
  • Review and assist with reconciling cash advances, budgets, and other fund sources.
  • Prepare and submit financial transaction adjustments.
  • Coordinate, review, and ensure all financial transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Assist internal stakeholders with utilization of required systems.
Required Qualifications
  • Educational Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required Experience:

    One (1) year of related bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with People Soft Financials or other financial services programs.
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Previous higher education experience.
Salary and Benefits
