** Position Summary
** The Tax Accountant will play a key role in Heidelberg USA’s Finance & Tax department by ensuring accurate tax reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting both month-end and year-end close processes. This position requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Manage and support sales tax compliance.  This includes preparing, filing and remitting payments to state and local jurisdictions.
* Knowledge of state sales tax exemption certificates.
* Analyze and perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
* Prepare general ledger activities and maintain proper documentation for audit purposes.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights to management.
* Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate collection of Sales Tax
* Assist with external and internal audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
* Working knowledge of SAP.
* Detailed knowledge of Sales & Use tax requirements & rules by state.
* Comprehensive knowledge of One Source Indirect Tax & RS Express Go Tax system.
* Working knowledge of Federal State & Local Income Tax returns and processes.
* Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
** Systems Knowledge
*** One Source Indirect Tax Compliance & One Source Certificate Manager
* One Source Income Tax RS Express Go (helpful but not mandatory)
* Checkpoint Tax Research
* SAP working knowledge
** Qualifications
* ** Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field.
* 5+ years of detailed Sales tax experience.
* Strong knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with IFRS a plus.
* Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP experience strongly preferred).
* Advanced proficiency Microsoft Excel skills.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

** Pay Range**$90,000 - $100,000
