Position: Sr. Anesthesia Tech Position (FT) - Kenner

Overview

Ochsner Health is committed to deliver high quality patient care and support anesthesia services. This role advances the training of anesthesia support personnel and improves department capabilities for complex cases and higher case volumes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care duties.
  • Maintain a clean, safe patient care environment.
  • Apply competencies based on age and developmental stage.
  • Participate in complex cases and assist anesthesia providers with quality patient care.
  • Mentor and train other anesthesia technicians.
  • Adapt communication style to specific patient population and privacy requirements.
  • Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of anesthesia tech experience required.
  • Preferred:
    College credits in anatomy and physiology or related science.
  • Preferred: ASATT Anesthesia Tech Certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting anesthesia equipment.
  • Basic analytical skills.
  • Computer, software and web‑based application proficiency.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills with self‑direction.
Physical & Environmental Demands

Very heavy work: exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, 20 pounds constantly. Requires walking, standing, and occasional lifting. Exposure to blood, body fluid, tissue and hazardous medications is possible. Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous waste is present.
