Under regular supervision, performs various manual maintenance duties required in support of the department. Reports to the foreman.essential job functions

Construction worker ii's perform a variety of work according to assigned work and/or supervisor. Duties may include the following:

Performs asphalt duties such as raking asphalt, laying down cold mix, leveling roads with sand, etc.

Performs parkway duties such as weed eating ditches and right-of-ways, cutting grass, removing trees and limbs, etc.

Performs drainage duties such as assisting operators, removing manhole covers, washing drain lines, adding water to machine, etc.

Receives and/or reviews various records and reports such as verbal instructions.

Prepares and/or processes various records and report such as verbal instructions.

Refers to maps / directions, policy and procedure manuals, codes / laws / regulations, etc.

Operates a variety of vehicles, equipment, and machinery such as riding mower, etc.

Uses a variety of tools such as weed eater, scale, rake, etc.; and a variety of supplies such as asphalt, replacement parts, etc.

Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as foreman, coworkers, and the general public.

Performs other related duties as required.

Essential duty status position, will be required to report to work during emergency situations, including, but not limited to, city-wide declared emergencies.requires construction operation experience involving cement finishing duties; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have a valid class e louisiana driver's license.
