The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Science is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the Bastyr University Kenmore campus, 15 miles north of Seattle. Bastyr University nutrition degree programs are unique in their emphasis on whole foods and multicultural, political, and ecological dimensions of food. This is a full‑time faculty position that includes didactic and clinical teaching and advising for graduate nutrition students and a critical administrative role as the director of the Master of Science in Nutrition‑Didactic Program in Dietetics internship program.

Responsibilities
  • Didactic and clinical teaching and advising for graduate nutrition students.
  • Administrative responsibilities as Director of the Master of Science in Nutrition‑Didactic Program in Dietetics internship program.
  • Balance administrative hours needed as Director of the program with teaching credits.
Qualifications
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related food science field.
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
  • Minimum of three years university‑level teaching experience.
  • Minimum of one year of administrative experience (program assessment preferred).
Skills and Knowledge
  • Demonstrated excellence in inclusive teaching and advising.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (writing, speaking, listening).
  • Administrative and student advising experience.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of ACEND accreditation standards for DI programs.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and database applications, nutrient database software, learning management systems (e.g., Canvas), and electronic health records (e.g., Epic).
