St Nicholas C of E Primary School, part of the Arden Forest C of E MAT, is looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and committed reception teacher to start week commencing 13th April 2026. This will be a fixed‑term full‑time position to cover maternity leave.
- Be a qualified teacher
- Have experience of working in Reception/Early Years
- Be enthusiastic, hardworking, resourceful and keen to ensure that the highest standards of pupil achievement, personal development and well‑being are attained
- Have high expectations of the children’s learning and behaviour and be committed to raising standards and promoting pupils’ well‑being
- Be skilled at tailoring and adapting learning to meet the needs of individual pupils
- Use initiative, work effectively as part of a team
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with parents and carers to achieve the best outcomes for their children
- Be committed to CPD for themselves and others
- Be an enthusiastic, resilient and imaginative individual, creating a learning environment where children feel secure
- Champion an area or subject within the curriculum
- Possess a positive, energetic and enthusiastic outlook
- Demonstrate patience, understanding and empathy with pupils and parents
- Contribute to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children

St Nicholas C of E Primary is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check with a Barred List check, Teacher Prohibition List checks, overseas checks where applicable, proof of qualifications, medical fitness checks, identity and right to work checks.
Applicants for roles working with children under five years during the school day and under eight years for those working in wraparound care will also be subject to Childcare Disqualification checks. It is an offence to apply for any paid role in a school if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
