Senior Finance Officer

Senior Finance Officer £30,000 £ 34,000 | Kendal | 37.5 hours | Permanent Im working exclusively with a well-established organisation in the South Lakes area that is looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Finance Officer. This is a varied role where youll be involved in the day-to-day running of the finance function, while also supporting month-end, reporting and audit.

It would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on role but also wants exposure to the bigger picture. The role Youll be supporting the Head of Finance and working closely with the wider team to ensure strong financial control. Responsibilities will include:
Supporting purchase ledger processing and supplier payment runs Posting income and investigating discrepancies Bank, control account and intercompany reconciliations Preparing month-end journals, accruals and prepayments Monitoring weekly cashflow and highlighting any issues Preparing VAT returns Assisting with management accounts, budgets and reporting Supporting year-end and audit preparation Providing guidance and support to Finance Assistants Acting as a first point of contact for day-to-day finance queries What theyre looking for
