The Pipe Foreman supervises and leads a crew of pipe fitters, welders, laborers, and support staff in the layout, fabrication, assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems. This includes industrial, oil & gas, pipeline, process piping, or utility systems (water, sewer, storm). The role ensures projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements while working in challenging Alaskan conditions (extreme cold, remote locations, and high safety standards).
WhatYou Will Need (minimum qualifications) Experience & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; additional technical training/certifications preferred.
- Minimum 5–10+ years of experience in piping/pipe fitting, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory/foreman role (industrial, oil & gas, pipeline, or heavy construction preferred).
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless), welding processes, and installation techniques.
- Experience in Alaskan/North Slope oil & gas or remote construction highly advantageous.
- Valid Alaska driver's license.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and fit-for-duty assessments.
- Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NCCER Pipefitter, welding-related quals, or site-specific training (e.g., North Slope training) a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts.
- Excellent safety mindset and knowledge of safe work practices.
- Proficiency reading blueprints, specs, and using measuring tools.
- Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
- Physical stamina for demanding outdoor work in harsh conditions.
