Overview

Sales Associate, Wine & Beyond Kelowna — Part-Time

We are currently looking for friendly, outgoing, customer service driven individuals to join our team as Part-Time Sales Associates at our Wine & Beyond Kelowna store.

Provide exemplary customer service to every person who walks into our store, understand customer needs, instill a customer mindset within the store, and participate in stocking and merchandising to ensure the store is stocked and ready to serve customers.

• Deliver exemplary customer service
• Greet customers when they enter the store and assist them to products when required
• Generate sales by educating, advising, and suggesting products to every customer
• Maintain a high level of service and product knowledge by completing all required training within the specified timeline
• Assist customers in-store and/or offer car service when appropriate
• Stock shelves and coolers with product; participate in merchandising and promotional activities
• Participate in routine store maintenance and cleaning
• Complete customer transactions on the POS device, including payment; adhere to cash handling policies and procedures
• Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly (when applicable)
• Complete end-of-day till reports (when applicable); ensure safe is locked and deposits are secured (when applicable)
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements and internal policies, including OHS, LP, Pro Serve/Serving It Right
• Maintain First-Aid, LP and OHS training; ensure employees maintain Pro Serve/Serving It Right
• Understand and comply with AGLC/BC LRS and other government guidelines

• Minimum 1 year experience in a retail environment

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Pro Serve/Serving It Right Certification
• First-Aid Certification is considered an asset
• Training in wine/beer/spirits (preferred, not required)

• Highly self-motivated; customer service driven
• Effective teamwork and strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong sales background; able to pass a background check
• Must have access to reliable transportation

• Ensure safe operation of equipment and maintain a safe workplace

• Varied retail schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds; stand for extended periods; able to climb ladders

• Robbery and shoplifting; potential for psychological stress, violence, and harassment
• Overexertion injuries; lifting and handling materials; slips, trips, and falls; knives and broken glass
