Position Summary

New graduates… A Registered Dietitian career with Interior Health Authority in British Columbia is full of opportunities to grow and advance! New graduate Dietitians are employed in diverse practice environments and have opportunity to work across the health care continuum, including hospital-based acute care, outpatient services, long‑term care homes, and home and primary care programs. All new graduate Dietitians will be provided the opportunity to identify their preferences for a position during the recruitment process.

Allied Health Transition to Practice Mentorship Program

Our Allied Health Transition to Practice Mentorship Program is designed to support and guide new graduates as they embark on their careers with Interior Health. This program provides you with a unique opportunity to build knowledge, confidence, connections, and competence as you transition into your new career.

  • Orientation and onboarding
  • Fostering and strengthening relationships
  • Clinical practice and mentorship to build practice readiness and consolidate skills
  • Developing a customized learning plan to transition to practice
  • Virtual office hours and introductions to other new graduates
  • Protected and/or supernumerary time for mentor/mentee connections, job shadows, self‑directed learning, and/or classroom learning

Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics
  • Successful completion of an accredited hospital‑based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility)
  • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reserved Acts A, B, and C may be required, or a willingness to obtain
  • Have less than 18 months’ worth of employment experience.
  • Have not participated in a new graduate or transition to practice program with another B.C. Health Authority.
