ResponsibilitiesThe cafe associate role is a great way to start a fulfilling career at Sam’s Club.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring high-quality products are fresh, ready, and available in the café
- Ensuring shelves are clean, maintaining temperature control, verifying expiration dates, and disposing of lesser-quality food products
- Packing ready-to-sell products in proper containers and stocking displays
- Preparing and serving ready-to-eat food
- Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and member-ready area
You will also work to meet customer needs through strong teamwork, adaptability, and commitment to member service.
What you'll do- Be a Team Member:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food, collaborate with cross-functional teams, educate other associates on tools and resources, communicate effectively with the team, and adapt to business needs. - Be an Expert:
Prepare food according to item specifications, plan for future and seasonal productions, adhere to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment; understand product and layout execution. - Be a Techie:
Use digital tools to drive sales and improve the shopping experience; use handheld technology to support production, ordering, receiving club pick-up orders, training, and product quality, and adapt to new tools. - Be an Owner:
Drive area performance; stock and rotate merchandise; ensure quality and date control; reduce waste; provide member service by acknowledging members and identifying needs; assist with purchasing decisions and resolving member issues. - Be a Talent Ambassador:
Act as a brand advocate, develop and inspire others to work in a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented way. - Complies with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by applying related action plans and procedures.
- Completes work assignments by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and other partners; identify priorities and deadlines; communicate progress; suggest improvements; adapt to change and feedback.
