Provides emergency and non-emergency medical services at the Paramedic level, including report writing and related services. Drives and operates Fire District apparatus in a safe and effective manner. Attends district provided training and EMS drills. Provides life safety and injury prevention activities for schools and other places of public assembly. These are illustrative of the job and do not include all job requirements.
The Fire District staffs three full-time ambulances on a 48/96-hour schedule and one ambulance working a 2-2-3 12-hour schedule. The Single Role Paramedic works under the direct supervision of the Shift Captain. Keizer Fire District is an ALS transporting agency that had 7097 calls in 2025, of which about 90% were EMS related.
Keizer Fire District ambulances are assigned to fire stations and are not required to work a system status deployment.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Oregon Driver License, or out of state license with ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver license within 90 days
Oregon Paramedic License, or ability to obtain reciprocity within 90 days of hire
NFPA Fire Apparatus Driver, EVOC or equivalent
Paramedic program students will be allowed to apply upon receipt of verifiable proof that they are enrolled in a paramedic program. Candidate must be a licensed Paramedic bythe time of hire.
