Snap Care is thrilled to partner with a client known for their people‑first leadership and exceptional workplace culture to bring you an incredible Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) opportunity. This is a full‑time position offered on a contract basis. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) collaborates with a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans for patients in a health and rehabilitation center.
The role focuses on assisting individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions to regain functional abilities and independence.
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist to address patient rehabilitation goals.
- Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, such as range‑of‑motion exercises, strength training, or fine motor skill development, tailored to recovery needs.
- Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment (e.g., walkers, dressing aids, or splints) to support rehabilitation and daily function.
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes in physical or cognitive status to the Occupational Therapist for treatment plan adjustments.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support to patients during therapy sessions to promote motivation and engagement in recovery.
- Educate patients, families, or caregivers on home exercises, safety techniques, or strategies to reinforce rehabilitation goals post‑discharge.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment, including sanitizing equipment and preparing therapy materials.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, including OTs, physical therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure coordinated care in the rehab center.
- Comply with Oregon state laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing occupational therapy practice.
