Financial Controller

Our client is a well-established UK manufacturing business and part of a wider group. With multiple sites and a strong governance culture, the business offers genuine scope to influence operations and performance.

This is a senior, hands-on role with full responsibility for day-to-day financial control, reporting and compliance. The Financial Controller will lead a small transactional team, provide clear performance insight to senior stakeholders, and act as the principal finance contact for the business.Key responsibilities:

• Full ownership of monthly management accounts in line with group timetables
• Production of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting with meaningful variance analysis
• Board and senior management reporting, including performance commentary
• Development and maintenance of robust financial controls, policies and procedures
• Leading the annual budget and forecast cycles, challenging assumptions where needed
• Business partnering with operational leaders to understand costs and improve margins
• Oversight of cash flow forecasting, banking arrangements and payment approvals
• Management and development of the purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control teams
• Leading year-end audit and statutory processes with external auditors and advisers
• Responsibility for VAT, corporation tax, payroll liaison and UK statutory filings

Candidate profile:

• Proven experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in management reporting, budgeting and cash flow control
• Experience leading audits and working with external advisers
• Confident, collaborative people manager with a coaching mindset
• Strong systems skills and advanced Excel capability

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
