Job Overview

Clinic Operations:
Develop and implement systems to support well-functioning clinical departments. Areas of oversight include: effective use of clinical and business information systems, quality improvement, personnel, space and equipment, departmental policies and procedures, evaluate and establish standards for workflow and performance, and financial management. Planning and development of clinical services:
The director will provide administrative support in the development and implementation of short‑ and long‑term programmatic, financial, and operational plans. Assess the operational and financial performance of existing and potential new programs and services. Lead the preparation of the annual operational and capital budgets. Assume lead responsibility for special Clinic‑wide or Department‑specific projects designated by the Vice President. These projects will include the identification, development and implementation of programs to enhance the delivery of effective and efficient ambulatory care.

Support Nursing leadership in ensuring appropriate clinical standards are considered in operations and decision making, clinical licensing and credentialing, assure clinical competencies and appropriate clinical staffing, maximizing “top of license” job responsibilities. Fiscal Responsibility:
Meets short‑term and long‑term financial goals by continually planning, developing, adjusting and identifying opportunities to improve patient access, maximize revenue and reduce costs while maintaining quality of services. Development of budget and accountability for performance relative to it. Analysis of performance and trends. Work in conjunction with Finance and Patient Financial Services in order to legitimately maximize revenues of department.

Assessment of department performance relative to benchmarks. Directs the work of the practice management team. Facilitates the achievement of proper management of all daily functions ensuring optimal patient access and patient, provider and staff engagement. Encourages standardization of processes and procedures. Participate as a member of the campus leadership to identify and solve operational problems, ensure coordination of care and services among departments, and develop opportunities for new or enhanced patient care services.

Interface, collaborate and coordinate with campus and DH system leadership as appropriate to assure full knowledge of all department activities as well as a means of coordinating the clinical responsibilities of the department. Interface and collaborate with outside health care providers and agencies as appropriate to enhance care of patients and community.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Masters Degree in health care management, business administration, nursing or related field, or Bachelor degree with equivalent additional training and certification or experience.

Minimum Experience:

5 years’ experience in health care administration, preferably in the ambulatory care setting. Specific Skills, Knowledge or

Competencies:

Demonstrated management and leadership expertise. Ability to relate to and deal effectively with physicians, administrators, support staff and the general public with a high degree of tact and discretion. Project management skills. Excellent oral and writing skills. Proficiency in database management and use of Excel. Strong analytical skills. Experience in quality and process improvement.

Licenses/Certifications:

Green Belt Certification strongly preferred.
