Stepdown Registered Nurse | Kearney, Nebraska

An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with stepdown unit experience to provide critical patient care during night shifts in a hospital setting. This contract position offers 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours guaranteed each week, allowing for a stable and predictable schedule.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit
• Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care unit
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety guidelines, and infection control protocols
