We are looking to add to our growing surgical team!
LOCATION: Seventh Avenue Surgery Center, Kearney, NE
Position SummaryThe Registered Nurse position is responsible for the treatment and care of our surgical patients. You will record patient symptoms, administer medications, assist with patient rehabilitation, educate patients and family members about medical conditions, and provide emotional support. RNs work within the context of the surgical team to provide care to individuals before, during, and after a surgical procedure.
What We Offer- Surgical days 3 days a week
- Wage per hour based on relative experience level
- 6.5 paid holidays per year
- Approximately 10 days of PTO within the first year

- No nights, weekends, on‑call, or holiday shifts
- Provide direct patient care to individuals in the pre‑surgical, operative, and recovery periods; collaborate with medical staff and other departments daily to promote coordination of patient care.
- Assure quality of care by adhering to compliance standards; following ASC philosophies and standards of care set by the state board of nursing, the state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; call for assistance from health care support personnel.
- Protect patients and staff by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- ASN or BSN degree is required.
- Registered Nurse with a current license to practice as a professional nurse in the state within the practice location.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support is required.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support is required and must be obtained within one year of employment.
- Minimum of one year related work experience in the operating room is preferred.
- Physical Activity:
Standing for sustained periods of time; stooping, grasping, lifting, talking, hearing. - Physical requirements:
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform each activity. - Anesthesia gases/agents
- Blood and blood borne pathogens
- Communicable diseases
- Hazardous waste
- Moving parts of equipment
- Sharp objects
- Worker may be exposed to the hazards listed above.
