Travel Nursing Job Details- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Critical Care Nurse (Travel)
- Location: Kearney, NE 68845 — Nebraska travel nursing job
- Setting: Acute Care Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – 10 beds (avg. daily census: 5+)
- Contract Type: Travel nurse contract (13 weeks)
- Start Date: March 1, 2026
- End Date: May 31, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,220 – $2,340
- Shift: 12-hour nights (1800–0630), every other weekend (EOW). Up to 2 extra mandatory overtime shifts per 6 weeks; travelers float first.
- EMR / Charting: Epic (experience preferred)
- Scrub Colors: Navy Blue, Black, or Charcoal Grey
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience — cardiac ICU or equivalent critical care experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with IABP, Impella, CRRT, and Day 2/Day 3 post-op CABG patient care (cardiac ICU skills)
- Current BLS and ACLS required; PALS required (pediatric experience highly preferred)
- NIHSS certification required
- Active Nebraska RN license or Compact RN license in good standing (Nebraska nursing jobs)
- Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred
- Willingness to float to PCU and Medical-Surgical units as needed (travelers float first)
- Strong critical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork skills for interdisciplinary ICU care
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing at a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio based on acuity
- Manage complex diagnoses including open-heart post-op care, CHF, COPD, sepsis, overdoses, CVA with TPA, DKA, and select neuro/tele-stroke patients
- Provide care for adult and pediatric ICU patients when ICU-level care is required (including children under age
8) - Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot advanced cardiac and critical care devices (IABP, Impella, CRRT)
- Provide post-operative care for CABG patients (Day 2/Day
3) and support cardiac ICU protocols - Float to PCU and Medical-Surgical units as census requires while maintaining patient safety and critical care standards
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, timely interventions and transitions of care
- Accurately document patient care in Epic, adhering to hospital policies and critical care nursing documentation standards
