SchedulePart-time dayshift CNA (6am-2:30pm). This position is scheduled 40 hours per 2 weeks.
WagePay range: $24.149/hr to $34.177/hr ($21.149/hr–$31.177/hr base + $3.00 differential per hour). Pay rate commensurate with experience.
ResponsibilitiesCNA’s provide quality care for each member to maintain quality of life, maintain dignity and confidentiality, perform routine nursing duties in the general care of elderly members, prepare, administer and document oral and topical medications and treatments. Under general supervision of a licensed nurse, provide basic nursing care, administer medications, and apply treatments for Veterans Home members within the scope of the Nebraska Medication Aide Act, State of Nebraska Nursing Assistant regulations, and Veteran's Affairs regulations.
Full and part-time positions available.
- Minimum qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age, completed a state‑approved 76‑hour nurse aide training course and competency evaluation program, and be listed on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry. - Must successfully complete the Medication Aide course and be listed on the Medication Aide registry within the first year of employment.
Job Description
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services;
Nebraska Medication Aide Act, medication administration, and adverse medication reactions; regulations governing nursing assistants; practices and principles of providing basic nursing assistance; infection control practices; HIPAA regulations; abuse and neglect identification and prevention; safety principles; privacy and dignity principles. - Skill in providing basic nursing assistance, administering medications, developing positive relationships with others.
- Ability to recognize adverse medication reactions and take appropriate action; follow oral and written instructions in exact detail; lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and push/pull up to 75 lbs on a daily basis; frequently bend at the waist and neck and frequently twist at the waist and walk or stand up to 90% of the shift; interact with members and others positively and be flexible to meet changing demands;
lift, turn and/or reposition members as needed.
