Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position in an acute care setting on night shifts, requiring a NE or compact license and at least two years of experience.

• Work in a Medical-Surgical unit located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital
• Acute care setting with Level 2 trauma designation
• Team care model with a daily census of approximately 14 patients and 24 beds
• Unit specialties include oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
• Nurse to patient assignments follow a team model
• 12-hour night shifts are required
• Charting is completed using Epic EMR
• Must remove artificial nails as part of the infection prevention policy
• Mandatory orientation includes a pass/fail open-book skills exam with a required score of 90%
• Must provide two professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years with employment dates and rehire eligibility
• First day includes a skills assessment exam
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted unless weekends only; duos seeking the same schedule or sharing a car will not be accommodated

• Active NE or compact RN license is required at the time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience in a Med-Surg setting
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as determined by driver's license
• May not currently be or have been employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with Common Spirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the last year
• Driver's license required for consideration
