Our client is a global Fortune 200 industrial manufacturing seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to lead the HR function of a 1,000+ employee manufacturing plant. This role will oversee a team of 7–8 HR Generalists and serve as a key business partner to plant leadership. The ideal candidate will bring deep HR expertise, a passion for people development, and a strong understanding of large-scale industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, develop, and coach a team of HR Generalists to deliver high-impact HR support across all shifts and functions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and employee relations.
- Drive a culture of safety, engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
- Oversee recruiting strategies to attract and retain top talent in a competitive labor market.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies, labor law compliance, and effective resolution of employee relations issues.
- Partner with corporate HR and other departments to implement company-wide initiatives, systems, and HR programs.
- Monitor HR metrics (turnover, time-to-fill, engagement, etc.) and drive data-informed improvements.
- Lead performance management, training, and succession planning efforts across all departments.
- Support and influence change management and communication strategies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred).
- 8–10+ years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing or distribution, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Must have previously supported a site with a mimimun of 600-700 employees.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and workforce development strategies.
- Proven success leading HR teams in high-volume, hourly workforce environments.
- Exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
- Experience with HRIS systems and data analytics tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results under pressure.
