Make a Lasting Impact – Teach, Inspire, and Empower Nebraska’s Youth! You will teach at West Kearney High School’s Youth Treatment School System, providing educational and therapeutic support to high‑acuity youth.

- Develop and implement group and individual lesson plans for daily learning.
- Maintain accurate records per laws, policies, and regulations.
- Instruct students using varied classroom methods, adapting materials to meet needs, abilities, and IEPs.
- Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests.
- Establish and implement behavioral protocols; observe and evaluate student behavior, performance, social development, and physical health.
- Maintain professional communication with administration and leaders.
- Oversee classes for high‑acuity youth ages 14‑18; may escort students, lead community projects, collaborate with other faculty/staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with at least a 7‑12 endorsement.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Previous teaching experience in the field preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of NE State Standards and Rule 10.
- Experience with at‑risk youth beneficial.
- Classroom management skills essential.
- Special Education endorsement strongly preferred.
Other: DHHS will consider elementary‑endorsed candidates willing to pursue a 7‑12 endorsement. Transition to Teach candidates are welcome to apply.
