As a member of the Financial Responsibility Division, you’ll help keep Nebraska roads safe by supporting key compliance and safety efforts. Job duties could include, but are not limited to:
- Process, approve, and deny ignition interlock permit applications and affordability funding applications.
- Work closely with courts and interlock companies while assisting applicants in navigating the interlock process.
- Respond to the public through multiple channels, including:
- Live Chat from the DMV website
- Phone inquiries
- In-person customer service at the DMV office
- Review and verify records, including driving history, court documents, crash reports, and insurance information.
- Collaborate with a 13-person team focused on identifying drivers with unsafe histories and taking appropriate action.
- Maintain accurate documentation of case actions, communications, and findings.
Minimum Qualifications
Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Preferred Qualifications- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks.
- Technically proficient with common software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, databases).
- Eager to learn, grow, and contribute.
Other:
Must pass fingerprinting and a background check conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol.
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Patience and empathy when assisting frustrated customers.
- Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Efficient and accurate typing skills.
- Commitment to ethical use of state resources.
