Job Title: Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

We are seeking an experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care across multiple units including Medical-Surgical and Telemetry. This role requires flexibility and strong clinical skills, as the RN will float between medical-surgical units and assist with medical-surgical overflow in critical care and emergency department environments when needed. The ideal candidate is adaptable, experienced in acute care settings, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
- Float between assigned units to support patient care needs and maintain safe staffing levels.
- Provide care for medical-surgical overflow patients in ICU and Emergency Department settings as needed.
- Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate patient conditions.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety protocols, and professional nursing standards.
- Night shifts (12-hour shifts)
- 72 hours every two weeks
- Weekend and holiday coverage may be required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in medical-surgical and/or telemetry settings
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system required
- Ability to float between multiple units and adapt to varying patient care environments
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
- Additional specialty certifications may be required depending on facility or unit requirements
