Shift: 1st (6:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Thursday, 10 hours)
Job description:
Prepare and handle material item to be prepped and assembled for positioners.
- At the beginning and end of shift, walk the yard and make a list of what is available for the shop to work on
- Follow the list provided by the supervisor as to what need to worked on and in what order it needs to be done
- Use sound judgement and forward thinking when the work schedule changes.
- Prep all wagons for the blasters and painters, staying ahead of them so work continues to flow steadily
- Working directly with positioner department when wagons and trailer need to go directly to them
- Assemble paperwork packet for each wagon, pull prints and double check they are tracked properly
- Pull shop wagons back to the appropriate bay
- Prepping subassemblies for positioner (gearboxes, hydraulic cylingers, air headers, power cord, air pumps, ext.)
- Building/Wiring new foot pedals (electrical experience in not required, on the job training will be provided)
- Run the reclaim system 1-2 times a day depending on workflow
- Inspects wagons/trailers to ensure safety and proper loading for painters.
- Maintain organization of prints and paperwork in order and separated
- Apprise supervisor when issues arise
- Blow/shovel snow off wagons and trailers before bringing them into the building
- Assembly of Positioners
- Delivery and pickup of parts
- Repairing gripper jaws.
- Conducts work safely and follows all safety procedures. Rejects work that is not safe and discusses the situation with supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
