The Production Manager, Utilities has overall responsibility for the Water Treatment Plant, Effluent Treatment Plant, and Landfill. Additional key responsibilities include managing department safety, cost effectiveness of operations & maintenance, improving equipment reliability, improving processes and managing team efforts among the Utilities Department and other departments.

• Ensure safe and reliable operation and maintenance of all equipment and processes in area of responsibility.
• Maintain 100% environmental compliance by ensuring:
  • All operators are properly trained.
  • All equipment is properly maintained.
  • All tests are being done correctly.
  • Chemicals are ordered on time.
• Manage an operating budget to achieve identified goals and objectives.
• Oversight of capital projects for Water Treatment Plant, Effluent Treatment Plant, and Landfill.
• Ensure operations in area of responsibility are aligned with all other operating areas.
• Optimize operations, identify opportunities to reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency of operations.
• Ensure department personnel complete required drills for managing upset conditions or emergency situations.

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical) or a commensurate amount of practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a utilities (ETP/WTP/Landfill experience preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Solid understanding of preventive maintenance methodology.
• Ability to work a rotating on‑call schedule.
• Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma training preferred.
• Possess or have the capability to acquire WDNR Solid Waste Facility Manager license and WDNR Wastewater Operator license.
