Temporary Worker - Maintenance and Operations Intern

Pay Grade: 10 per hour

Qualifications:

Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years old

Ability to follow instructions (written or oral)

Ability to comprehend verbal and written English

Ability to work collaboratively with others

Demonstrate decision making and problem solving skills

Must be self-motivated, accountable and dependable for the job task

Must be safety conscious and should have a conviction for any safety concerns

Ability to maintain emotional stability

Primary Purpose:

Assist other district employees with a variety of physical and mental demanding tasks. Provide excellent customer service.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs general labor duties.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Perform physically demanding tasks for an extended period of time.

Work in non-air-conditioned environment.

Participate in-service trainings offered by Katy ISD.

Equipment Used:

Personal computer, hand tools, ladder, hand truck, dolly, and pallet jack

Working Conditions:

Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, humid conditions, dust, fumes, chemicals, odors, loud noises, and slippery or uneven surfaces. Continual walking and standing: frequent heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work around moving objects and vehicles.
