SummaryThe Host is responsible for providing a warm and inviting restaurant environment for all guests. The Host works alongside the service and support staff to provide a great dining experience for all guests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Maintains a professional and welcoming attitude at work and practices the Company service principles.
- Opens the front door for guests and welcomes guests as they enter the restaurant.
- Seats guests and controls the seating flow to ensure proper ticket times from the kitchen.
- Seats only complete parties or parties with at least 80% of the total number of the party.
- Uses technology to effectively manage wait times and alert guests of table availability.
- Responsible for thanking guests as they leave the restaurant.
- Maintains presence at the host station except when performing duties that require leaving the station.
- Maintains cleanliness of host station and front entryway.
- Serves as the first and last impression of the restaurant to our guests.
- Additional opening and closing side work-related job duties and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Ability to speak, write, and understand simple instructions in English.
- Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
- Must have a Food Handler Certificate.
- Must be a team player and customer service oriented.
- Familiarity with point of sales (POS) system preferred.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
- Stands and walks on uneven, slippery, and/or wet surface for at least 8 consecutive hours.
- Speaks and listens in-person to staff and customers for at least 8 consecutive hours.
- Speaks through radio and listens through earpiece for at least 8 consecutive hours.
- Clearly observes customer service in the dining room from up to 100 feet.
- Performs moderately strenuous activity for at least 8 consecutive hours.
- Routinely lifts, stoops, kneels, bends, pushes, and pulls up to 25 pounds, and reaches overhead.
- Performs other physical requirements necessary to perform duties and responsibilities.
- Moderate noise, fast pace, high customer traffic, and ability to tolerate cleaning solutions regularly.
