Non-Profit & Social Impact
Non-Profit / Outreach, Volunteer / Humanitarian
Position Summary
Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) serves as a critical safety net for our community, distributing ~2 million pounds of food annually, providing $300K in emergency financial aid to veterans and others in need, and offering life‑saving advocacy and counseling for veterans and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. After a season of internal focus, we are entering a "Year of Restoration."
We are seeking a visionary leader to rebuild historic bridges, forge new corporate alliances, and secure the resources necessary to sustain our massive community impact.
- Individual & Major Gifts:
Identify, cultivate, and solicit a portfolio of 100+ major donors. Move supporters through a pipeline from transactional giving to transformational legacy gifts. - Corporate Partnership Launch:
Execute KCM’s first ever Corporate Giving Program. Secure sponsor ships for the food center, social services, and crisis programs by aligning with local business Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals. - Church Reengagement:
Serve as the primary liaison to the faith community. Systematically visit local congregations to renew relationships, provide impact reports, and re‑establish KCM as a preferred mission partner for tithing and local outreach. - Revenue Synergy:
Partner with the Thrift Store Managers ($1.5M annual revenue) to convert high‑volume shoppers into mission donors and corporate clothing drive partners.
- Grant Lifecycle:
Lead the research, writing, and submission of high‑level proposals for government (local/state/federal), foundation, and corporate grants. - Programmatic Compliance:
Ensure all grant‑funded initiatives meet rigorous reporting requirements and outcome milestones.
- Narrative Ownership:
Act as the lead spokesperson to address KCM’s pledge of consistent communication and transparency. Craft a narrative that highlights current initiatives, stringent board oversight, and the tangible lives changed today. - Multi‑Channel Appeals:
Oversee the creation of the Annual Report, digital giving campaigns, and direct mail appeals that tell the story of the 2 million pounds of food and thousands of families served.
- Professional
Experience:
7+ years of progressive fundraising experience in a nonprofit setting, with a proven track record of closing five‑ and six‑figure gifts. - Technical
Skills:
Expert proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT, Bloomerang, or Salesforce) for donor segmentation and data‑driven decision‑making. - Communication:
Exceptional written communication skills, public speaking skills, and the ability to articulate a faith‑based mission to both secular corporate boards and denominational leadership. - Integrity & Resilience: A "thick skin" and high emotional intelligence. You must be comfortable addressing past organizational failures to build future trust.
- Fundraising Success:
Demonstrated success in securing $1.5MM+ in annual grant funding and $1.75MM+ in annual individual, church, and corporate donations in the near term.
- Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
- Bonus Structure:
Eligibility for an annual performance‑based bonus (up to 20%) based on meeting defined revenue and relationship‑restoration milestones.
