POS Tester

Type: Contract (C2C/W2)

Job Description

• Test Execution: Perform functional, regression, and integration testing on POS applications.
• Hardware Integration: Test peripheral connectivity, including barcode scanners, receipt printers, cash drawers, and EMV credit card terminals.
• Payment Processing: Validate credit/debit card transactions, Gift Cards, Loyalty Points, and mobile wallet payments (Apple Pay/Google Pay).
• End-to-End Flows: Verify complex retail scenarios such as split payments, returns/refunds, exchanges, tax calculations, and discount coupons.
• Database Validation: Execute SQL queries to verify that transaction data is correctly flowing from the POS terminal to the back-office database and ERP systems.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, and track software defects using tools like Jira or Azure Dev Ops

• Collaboration: Work closely with Developers and Business Analysts to understand retail requirements and provide feedback on UI/UX for store associates.

• POS Expertise: Proven experience with POS platforms.
• Retail Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Store Operations, Inventory Management, and Pricing/Promotions.
• Tools: Proficiency in Jira
  , HP ALM
  , or similar Test Management tools.
• Automation (Optional but Preferred): Basic knowledge of automation tools like Selenium or Appium for testing retail apps.
• SQL
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to write basic to intermediate SQL queries for data verification.
• API Testing: Experience testing APIs/Web Services (Postman/SoapUI) that connect the POS to the cloud.
