Long-TermIncentive Plan (LTIP)
LTIP awards are discretionary and based on performance. Awards vest over a three-year period and are tied to individual performance and operational success.
What does a Certified Medical Assistant do?Under direct supervision, assist physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promote efficient patient flow, perform clinic support tasks, and maintain compliance with US Oncology’s standards.
Responsibilities- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
- Record patient data prior to each visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtain necessary patient records before treatment or procedures.
- Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by RN or physician.
- Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
- Answer patient telephone calls for referral or prescription.
- Inform physician of patient reschedules and no shows.
- Perform other administrative duties such as typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, and reception.
- May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
Level I- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
- 0–3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
- Some state regulations may require specific certifications.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Current BLS certification required.
Full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, occasionally lifting up to 40 lbs., corrected vision and hearing required.
Work EnvironmentExposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
