Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will lead the financial transformation of our growing organization. This role is responsible for building scalable financial processes, implementing robust internal controls, and establishing the reporting infrastructure to support our accelerated growth targets over the next few years. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where they can design systems from the ground up rather than inherit mature processes.
This is a high-impact role for a Controller who wants to build something. You'll have direct access to the COO, visibility to parent company leadership, and the autonomy to design processes that will scale with the business. We're looking for someone who sees gaps as opportunities rather than problems.
Role & Responsibility- Design and develop financial processes and implement internal controls;
- Partner with CCO on corporate strategy and operational decisions;
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end consolidated financial statements; manage year-end reviews and audit files;
- Drive annual budgeting and rolling forecasting processes;
- Provide financial analysis and job-cost reporting to operations, plant management, procurement, and logistic to enhance performance and profitability
- Produce financial, job-cost and performance metric reports for decision-making;
- Ensure timely reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and report variances to budget;
- Manage cashflow and approve payments to maintain liquidity;
- Create and post general journal entries for accurate reporting;
- Ensure timely and accurate government filings and tax submissions;
- Maintain internal controls and compliance with treasury, accounting policies and regulations;
- Participate in inventory reconciliations and support special projects to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA or CMA an asset);
- 8-12 years experience in accounting with at least 3 in a manufacturing or construction environment;
- Experience building controls, budgeting, and forecasting processes; experience leading ERP implementations;
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations;
- Excellent analytical skills & strong problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail, strong time management with ability to meet deadlines;
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret financial data to provide actionable recommendations;
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive business relationships.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are preferred.
