- Design and Analysis:
Perform structural analysis and design for a wide range of projects, including commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure. - Calculations and Modeling:
Conduct detailed calculations and use structural analysis software (e.g., SAP
2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D) to model and evaluate structural systems. - Drawing and Specification:
Prepare and review structural drawings, specifications, and reports. - Code Compliance:
Ensure all designs and projects comply with relevant building codes (e.g., IBC, ASCE
7), industry standards, and local regulations. - Collaboration:
Work closely with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and contractors to integrate structural systems into overall project designs. - Site Visits and Inspections:
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, foundation evaluation, structural inspections, and address any structural issues that may arise. - Problem-Solving:
Identify and solve complex structural problems, providing innovative and cost-effective solutions. - Mentorship:
Potentially mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. - Project Management:
Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree is preferred. - Licensure:
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Structural Engineer (SE) license is highly desirable. - Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in structural engineering design.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP
2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D). - Strong knowledge of building codes, including the International Building Code (IBC) and ASCE 7.
- Experience with different construction materials, such as steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
- Proficiency in drafting software like AutoCAD or Revit.
