- Any combination of work experience, training and education, or industry credential related to the subject matter he/she will be teaching
- Specific certifications for this position:
- Current licensure, certification, or registration by a nationally recognized accrediting agency as a health professions practitioner
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to be successful in the health science field.

- Develop long- and short-range plans for the instructional program.
- Present subject matter according to guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and aligned industry credentialing agency.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Work to maintain and improve professional competence through participation in campus and district staff development programs.
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
- Demonstrate awareness of district/community needs by maintaining and leading a subject matter advisory committee. Initiate activities to meet identified industry.
- Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Receive and maintain teaching supplies and classroom equipment as provided by the District; keep a current inventory of all items and provide the inventory upon request.
- Compile and maintain all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents as required, to include student records and credentialing information.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and sponsor outside activities as approved by campus principal.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district’s curriculum program and prepare students for industry certification. Show evidence of preparation in curriculum management system as required by district policy.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Cooperate with other members of staff for planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
