General Description:
As an Automotive Technician in one of Goodyear's Auto Service centers, you will professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent guest experience. You will have the opportunity to mentor and continually learn about new technologies in the rapidly changing automotive industry, while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Perform line technician services, routine inspections/maintenance, system diagnostics, and full automotive troubleshooting and testing.
- Work on brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and advanced fuel ignition, electrical, air conditioning, computer systems, and power-train management systems; conduct road tests for diagnosis and service recommendations.
- Road test vehicles after repairs to ensure mechanical soundness and identify any other issues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to learning new technologies within the automotive industry and provide guest-focused service.
- Mentor junior and mid-level automotive technicians and document all work on repair orders.
- Report safety issues immediately to management and promote teamwork to deliver accurate guest care during all operating hours.
- Maintain adherence to company policy on vehicle care and operation.
- Perform manual tasks for extended periods, including lifting, standing, bending, and squatting.
- Minimum 3 years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
- Valid driver’s license; must be at least 18 years of age.
- No relocation offered; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- High School Diploma or GED
- ASE Certifications
- Experience with exhaust, ignition, electrical, air conditioning, computer systems, and power-train management systems
- Strong work ethic and independence with the ability to produce results
- Reliable, responsible, and a team player with good communication
- Ability to review, analyze, interpret information, identify problems, and make decisions
- Ability to read, understand, and follow procedures and guidelines
- Store openings may include weekends and some holidays depending on location
- Commitment to safety policies and procedures
